Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx

Discover a Better Off-road Experience

There are plenty of light truck tires on the market today capable of delivering a smooth, stable ride on blacktop and other forgiving surfaces. Once you take those tires off-road, however, you find out just how vulnerable they are to chips, cuts, and stone drilling from gravel, rocks and other hard, sharp debris. If you spend a certain amount of time driving over unpaved or gravel roads, you need a tire that can keep up with your off-road-- a tire like the Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx.

On-road and Off-road Excellence

The S/T Maxx gives you total command and stability over all kinds of road surfaces. Its unique alternating 4-5 rib tread pattern not only looks like it can chew up anything, but it also provides a firm grip over both highway asphalt and those unpredictable off-road materials. This tire employs a blend of natural rubber and silica to maintain solid traction on dry and wet roads -- so no matter what kind of road you're traveling on, you can reach your destination safely and confidently.

Tougher than the Terrain

For a highway tire to also shine as an off-road tire, it's got to be tough -- and tough is the S/T Maxx's middle name. Its Armor-Tek3 construction ensures strong sidewalls and tread. The enhanced buttress design helps it resist punctures while giving you a better grip on loose sand, gravel and pebbles. And you know those stones that love to drill their way into weaker tires? Well, now you can forget about them. The S/T Maxx utilizes stone ejector ribs that help you push those offending stones out of your tires before they can lodge in the tread and do lasting damage. That means you'll enjoy many more miles of trouble-free tire performance, whether you're breezing down the highway or grinding up trail dust.

Cooper gives the Discoverer S/T Maxx their highest performance rating for off-road performance -- and once you've taken them out for a spin, you'll see why. The S/T Maxx comes in a wide range of sizes, so you're bound to find the perfect fit for your vehicle.

I first bought these brand new in aug 2011.when i first put them on they were very quite.i was very pleased.they replaced stock Michelin tires.they were hard to get used to as they were very loose. felt like i was driving on flat tires.i inflated to 50psi no change.then 80 psi.a slight better but still felt loose.I imagine it was due to new soft deep rubber thread.so i keep them.they now have 10000 miles on them.they have improved handling but have a terrible shake to them.I will go with the bfg at next time.I love the way these tires look but performance was not up to par.they have worn even and noise level has not gone up much..

Awesome Tire

Great tire for mud and snow. I have had the tires about a year. I have used the tires hunting in mud and the Sierra snow. The tires are spongy at first but seem to "break-in" at about 10,000 miles. I love this tire and will replace with the same when the time comes. The tire wear would be higher but I have only had the tires a year. Great tire, no regrets!!!!!!

New Cooper tires on my truck

2011 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD 12/10/2013

I bought some Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx tires about 3 months ago for my truck. I bought them from Tire Crawler because they were much cheaper than buying them locally, even with the shipping costs! I have been very impressed with the tires, and already have about 15,000 miles on them. They do great in all weather so far, I can break them loose in wet weather, but that's mainly because I have a diesel truck. They perform great on a wet highway. I will be buying another set of these (from Tire Crawler of course) when I wear them out.

good tire

The tires needed to be broken in, as they wandered when new. 2k miles they feel solid and track well. Fairly low noise for a tire this aggressive. Good traction. Will continue to buy these tires.

Excellent Tires

2007 Dodge Ram 1500 12/16/2014

This is my 3rd successful order with Tire Crawler. I have three vehicles. The only guy who is upset is the guy who owns a local shop and gave me a quote for the same tires at $600 over my cost with Tire Crawler. If you don't need tires in a hurry, you can save big on the cost. Today I installed them and had zero problems. If I ever need tires anytime in the near future, I will again order through Tire Crawler.
